Aquatic Bodywaves is an aquatic bodywork training, based on a playful pedagogy, focused on body sensations and guided improvisation. During an “Aquatic Bodywaves” session the giver invites the receiver into waves, spirals, massage and resting postures. The exploration often leads to deep relaxation and emotional release. The training includes a lot of improvised aquatic dances in solo, duet or group, where you explore qualities of movement or touch and learn precise bodywork tools and get some individual feed backs on your personal approach.
Manuela Blanchard is a water body therapist, WATSU® practitioner & Water Dance® teacher, trained in Healing Dance® (> 1000 hours of training in Aquatic Bodywork) and in synchronised swimming as a teenager. Certified in WATA® by Arjana Brunschwiler, her main teacher. As a Contact Improvisation teacher, she was naturally interested to develop an interactive water dance form, that she teaches since 2007, also internationally. The « Learning Love® » training help her to support people with tools like inner child, non violent communication and trauma healing.
Goals - to gain better understanding of body alignment, coordination of movement, taking care of your body and the one of your partner - to engage your whole being while « dancing » someone in water - to develop an intuitive awareness of appropriate response to the needs of the client in term of movement and quality of presence - to help the receiver welcome their flow of feelings and ground him after a deep experience
Teaching approach We will focus more on movement principles rather than on precise patterns. You will learn moves with the aim to adapt them to the receiver’s body, as well as how to develop your own style of bodywork. We create a safe frame, by trusting the healing field of the water, and by supporting the resources of the person. A lot of guided improvised dances will open doors for your intuition to grow in a playful and lively way.
For whom? for people with some experience in bodywork, who feel at home in water and in dancing and who want to deepen their skills in giving individual water sessions.
