How does it feel like to dance with a man or with a woman? Where do I put limits und how do I communicate this? Do I dare to bring my female resp. male power and my sexual energy into the dance and how do I deal with it? What are my taboos and which of them would I like to overcome? What is helpful to finally get to clear and passionate encounters with my dance partners - men and women - where I can feel fulfilled on all levels, save and completely alive?
In this workshop we want to find ways to integrate sensuality, intimacy and sexual energy into Contact Improvisation in a nourishing way and to use these aspects of human existence playfully and with intelligence. We are interested in the exploration of the own female and male parts as well as there alchemistic meeting with other bodies. We are looking for encounters on the dance level, where sensuality can be part of – beyond all the stereotypes of sexual attraction and fare from just being driven by our stormy, purposeful hormones. We want to dedicate our dances to this kind of intimacy, where surrender is as important as courage and that will help to open up our bodies towards proximity, power and tenderness – independently from our partner’s gender.
The language of Contact Improvisation with its clarity and physicality will be the very base of our research work.
Communicating through the point of contact and taking profit from gravity will lead us to a differentiated and dynamic relationship in the dance; maintaining the solo within the duet will help every man and every woman to stay autonomous and to share all her/his individuality in the common dance.
We will dance as well in the studio, as in nature and in water (thermal bath), the place is wonderfully designed for this.
This workshop is meant for maximum 20 participants with experience in Contact Improvisation.
During the free time we can enjoy walking in the forest, resting at the pond, or bathing in the little stream nearby. And despite our ideas and plans we are fully open for the desires of the group and will follow the flow... and the weather, of course !
Welcome to a joyful journey to yourself, the other and to nature!
